Canterbury's hidden gem! ...Perhaps that's why its still quiet... Lovely little restaurant. We’ll be going again (and again!). All the food was lovely, and the best pancetta ever!

Nice private dining. Listen to the advice. Wine pairing perfect to accompany what we picked. Venison to die for. Frutti Di mare lovely and rich. Will have to come back to share a T Bone

The food was absolutely brilliant. In particular the mussels in pomodoro sauce for starter & the venison as a main. Both incredible.

I visited Il Posticino this weekend with my partner. From the moment we stepped through the door we were made to feel welcome. The seating was upstairs in a light, spacious and comfortable area. Tables were nicely spaced and beautifully set and so clean. We were able to choose between tables which was lovely. The atmosphere was light and there was a good mix of customers, from couples to a large family group next to us. Service was excellent. Friendly, respectful and professional. It was so nice to feel relaxed and not pressured. The menu offered great choices without being overwhelming, and although the server apologised for the wait, there was no need. He very graciously corrected my poor attempt at reading my order in Italian which I appreciated. Pici pronounced peachy not picky in typical English fashion. The food was delicious, hot and beautifully presented. My partner had risotto and I had pici with fennel. Gorgeous! I didn’t think it could get better until dessert arrived which I could’ve eaten over again. A replacement to the menu, a chocolate creme brulee (mousse) with raspberry sorbet and pistachios. Heaven! If you visit Canterbury don’t leave without eating here, you won’t be disappointed. A real family run gem! If the server makes it to Cambridge to study his Masters I wish him good luck in his studies. Thank you for making our weekend so special.

Beautiful food served in an airy upstairs dining room. The menu is quite short, but everything is both delicious and not readily found elsewhere. We had the mixed cheese/cold meat/olives to start, and then venison, sea bream and mixed fried fish - all really tasty. The desserts were also delicious. Not cheap but worth it due to the high quality. Highly recommended.

This truly is a hidden gem! It's outside the city walls but just 2 minute walk south east from Fenwick so easily able to have a few drinks around the main high street before your meal. We opted to share a flatbread which was delicious. We then decided to have a pasta as a first course and we both had the venison as a main, all of which, blew us away! Really warm, friendly, welcoming service and simply outstanding authentic food! Would highly recommend. It's quaint, romantic, great value and gastronomically pleasing! Would give it 6 out of 5 if I could!
